Lily's Graduation

As the oldest of the next generation of Moss' our little Lily is a star. She's a princess and still has time to be a genius! She graduated from pre- school this year so we wanted to congratulate her! Her teacher said she is a great role model for the younger children . So well done Lil! We're so proud of you. Hope you enjoy big school :D love Auntie Deb and Uncle Derek.

Derek's Birthday

In the almost two years that Derek and I have been together we have celebrated two of my birthdays and none of his. We've not actually ever been in the same country on his birthday so i was very excited! Derek got the day off work and we managed pack a whole range of fun things into just one day. He had a treasure hunt for his presents, played basketball, talked to the family in england, went for lunch at Panera bread, walked through the natural science museum, got a smoothie, spent some time at the mall, had dinner at the cheesecake factory and watched a movie. best day ever!

July- Summer is almost over!

So we only have three more weeks here! its crazy! Derek is doing really well still but we're both looking forward to going back to BYU soon. Still looking for an apartment but we're getting closer everyday.. i can almost taste it!
I had my first ever fourth of july this summer. We sat on some grass and ate brownies with chase as we watched fireworks. I love how everyone just parks anywhere, in the middle of the road and sits on any random patch of grass like "its fourth of July, of course this is fine".

A few weeks ago we were lucky enough to go to Washington, DC for the weekend. Such a cool place to visit! There's so much to do and see and its all in beautiful buildings and gorgeous green parks.. oo we loved it! We'll definitely be going back there at some point in the future.
Derek has applied for dental schools so interviews will hopefully start rolling in. only heard from one so far but its early still.

The Moxie office olympics have begun this week which means team challenges everyday. Things like holding your breath underwater, buy the cutest baby clothes, eat the most chicken wings (the grosses night ever), dodgeball... etc. So far Derek's team are killing the others so we're happy!

We're also very into making homemade pizzas this summer. We are pros! They are the most delectable thing, we should open a pizza place. We made a Mexican pizza (with a stuffed crust!) and then a chicken and mushroom alfredo mmmm.
Derek's birthday is on tuesday, I'm so excited about it because in all the time we've been together we've celebrated two of my birthdays and not one of his. So this one is going to be amazing, i have lots of surprises planned which will probably mean another blog very soon. Anyway other than that i have been scrapbooking a lot. I have finished two now- our wedding album and our honeymoon disney album.
So that is the month of July in a nutshell. Its gone fast but been lovely as ever. Love you all!

Raleigh in june

So far our North Carolina experience has been sunny, hot, happy, sunny, hot, great, hot, fun and lovely :D
Derek spends all day in the baking sun knocking on people's doors to ask if they want to buy pest control. and bless his heart he is doing wonderfully. while i spend the day running, swimming, scrapbooking, googling, blogging, baking... doing all the things i could ever want to do. Derek joins me part way through the day to eat the latest meal i found on supercook.com and see if its worth me making again.
I have definitely developed a love for cooking in a very short time. i had no idea it would sneak up on me like this. (consider yourself warned that this blog may accidentally turn into a cooking/baking blog).
anyway the story f the week is that derek jumped in the pool with his phone in his pocket earlier today. i did ask him if he wanted to change into his swim shorts but nooo he said his basketball shorts would be fine.. hmm.
anyway we're on just the one phone now. he needs it for work and i can contact people through the internet anyway. not a big deal at all.
we're so lucky to live in this time and country where we have access to great technology like the one and only KING SKYPE, master of all communication.
this weekend my mum and i cleaned my house and made dinner for grandma.. then we played scrabble.. all in a days work :D
then on sunday my mum had created a Father's Day challenge. each of the boys had to see if they could beat my Dad in three areas. now that he's the young age of 59 his challenges are starting to catch up with him and my brothers have a good advantage.
So sunday afternoon we had the webcam on while my brother ben and derek attempted to touch their toes, beat dad at pushups, and catch three coins on the back of their hand (harder than it looks trust me).
Derek did amazing and will be training for father's day in the years to come just in case anyone tries to spring another challenge on him. we're still not sure who won as my brother in law Nigel still has to do it. apparently he was sleeping when they were doing it. (because its not like anyone else has a reasonable excuse like living in a different time zone or anything).
The highlight of my weekend (as well as watching my brother ben attempt to touch his toes.. did i say toes? i meant knees) .. was going to see Toy Story 3 on saturday night. we loved it! came out smiling and feeling wonderful about the world.. plus an added amount of guilt for the toys we both threw away..but yes it IS worth seeing!
anyway i hope everyone's thank you cards finally arrived. we were so grateful for all the cards and gifts we received for our wedding. i just hope we didn't miss anyone off our thank you card list. just in case we did.. thank you again and we hope to see you soon!

Our house alarm

Just a fun story about our first week in our new apartment. actually, to be specific it was our first night and we were still moving our stuff in at 1:30am. I was in the shower when suddenly the house alarm goes off. so i jump out and derek is running around like a crazy person saying 'sorry i pressed the panic button'. apparently there is button right by our bed which derek had pushed when he was moving things around. to our annoyance we knew nothing about the apartment yet never mind the code to shut the alarm off. so for five dreadful minutes this piercing sound filled our apartment and those near us. we hadn't even introduced ourselves to the neighbours yet! thats not going to happen now. anyway so our frantic making up random codes and pressing every button on the keypad didn't work, but it stopped after the longest five minutes of our lives.
eventful, and not that surprising is it really?
