Meanwhile i've been cooking and cleaning and playing house :D whilst looking for a job or a class for this summer. Our apartment is great! We live just off the highway and we're surrounded by shopping centres. we have everything we could want right here. Even a shower curtain that displays a map of the world!

The drive to North Carolina

We left Medford Oregon on Monday and arrived in Raleigh North Carolina on Friday. A week of hotels and playing 20 questions meant we were SO ready to stay somewhere for more than a week and couldn't be more excited to move into our new apartment.
On the way we hit an awful storm in Nebraska. We literally drove under the huge black cloud that was pelting hail stones the size of peas at our car. Then we almost crashed into a huge piece of machinery on the road. A guy hadn't strapped it to his truck properly and a woman had already swerved into a ditch trying to avoid it and was now stuck in the mud. Derek stopped to help him pull it out of the road while another guy flagged everyone down to move to the other lane. Thank goodness, if he wasn't there we would have had quite the pile up. But we passed through it soon after, Derek driving extremely carefully as usual :D
Then we saw the house.. you'll see the video.. what on earth? Only in America...

We went to Disney World for our honeymoon where we obviously belong! We went to all the parks and the water parks but our favourite was Animal Kingdom. It was amazing! We got given "just married: happily ever after" badges to wear which got us free ice cream and front row seats for shows. Best week ever!

Our Wedding!

So after much confusion and changing of plans due to visa problems and ash clouds... We drove to Oregon earlier than expected. My parents joined us a week later and we showed them around the gorgeous sights of southern Oregon. They loved it but two days later we had to stop having fun and start planning the wedding! It was only days away.
My parents were staying in a hotel for the weekend and planned to get a rental car and a new hotel on the monday. I spent the day with them where they fussed about the price of the car they rented and decided to go back to the airport to check out the deals they had there. The doors open for arrivals and in walks my sister Jen, her two kids (Lily and Abi), my brother Jared, his wife Rohaise and their two kids (Sophia and Seb). They all looked absolutely exhausted but they were smiling their biggest 'surprise' smiles as I broke down into hysterical tears in the middle of the airport.
After catching up a bit we all got ourselves into the car and Jazz says "what car's ben going to have?" Apparently my brother Ben was also coming with his wife Becky on thursday but Jared had ruined their surprise. So they decided to tell me that my brother in law Nige will be coming too. I was the happiest girl alive at this point! I couldn't believe it. We told Derek to meet us at this random address, in the middle of nowhere which is where my parents had chosen to stay. It turns out it was a gorgeous ranch that sleeps like 12 people. We drove in and watched Derek's jaw drop as he saw who was driving the car. He was just as shocked and excited as I was. Officially the best wedding present ever!
So for the next few days we tried to balance planning the wedding with playing at the ranch as well as making time for Derek to study for his Dental Admission Test.
The thursday came had he scored amazingly on his test which just made the week even beter and took a load off our minds. Things had started going to plan. Everyone came to help on the Friday. My room mates Tori and Whitney had driven up with my bridesmaid Rachel and my friend Tiffanie had flown from Utah to help and celebrate too. We got the hall set up by about 10 that night and went home to try to get some rest for the big day ahead.
In the morning it took a good three hours to do my hair and makeup. We drove to the temple and were married for time and all eternity at 11am. It was wonderful. We came out of the temple and started the photo shoot that would last all day. Our photographer was wonderful, we had plenty of time so she didn't feel rushed and took all the shots she wanted.
Then we went to the chapel where we had our ring ceremony, cut the cake, more pictures, speeches, slideshow and first dance. It was lovely, everyone seemed very happy. Then again, they weren't going to do anything but smile at the bride and groom were they!
All in all it was an amazing day. We were so glad that the people than mean so much to us were able to be there and celebrate with us. We're looking forward to getting our official pictures back so we can reminisce for years to come.

Sorry we're married so we got a blog.

Well here we are, The Hulls. After a wonderful wedding, a week in Disney World and a drive across the country, we figured we have lots of stories to tell those who care. So here is our blog.
For all those who want to catch up with us and wonder where we are, as of May 20, 2010 we are living in Raleigh, North Carolina. Its hot and humid but we love it so far. Our apartment is gorgeous and bigger than anything we'll have for the next few years so we're enjoying the space while we can.
We've posted a few pictures of the wedding, honeymoon, drive and apartment so check them out and remember to keep in touch with us. Love to all! Derek and Debbie.
